This course introduces the student to phlebotomy procedures (skin punctures and venipunctures) for the purpose of collecting blood for laboratory tests, as well as the electrocardiography procedure, understanding the basic electrocardiogram (ECG) and heart functions. Once completed, students will be able to both correctly conduct skin and venipuncture techniques for blood collection and recognize the patterns in normal and abnormal conditions of the heart which will facilitate the accurate diagnoses of medical conditions.
